BLAINE, Minn. - The second and final NAHL Future Prospects Tournament of the 2017-18 season will be underway this weekend in Blaine, Minnesota.
The Future Prospects Tournaments invites teams at the 18U, 16U, and 14U levels to compete in an invitational-style tournament consisting of a minimum of four games to compete in cooperation with the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL).
With over 75 teams under the same roof at the Schwan Super Rink, the NAPHL and Future Prospects Tournament games will once again prove to be one of the most prominent Tier 1 tournaments of the season.
In the last FPT event, the Thunder Bay Kings had a perfect 6-0 record to claim the 14U Division Title. In the 16U Division, the finals were a match-up of Minnesota-based teams, who were composed of some of the best high school sophomores in the state. Tommy Chicago’s AAA walked away with the title after Cole Cavanugh’s scored his 4th goal of the event with just a minute remaining to win the championship. For the 18U division, the Minnesota Penguins completed a perfect record and defeated the Nashville Jr. Predators 4-1 for the title.
